GLOBAL CONNECTIONS’ FLORIDA OFFICE RAISES FUNDS FOR CHARITY

Overland Park, KS – August 17, 2010 – The staff of Global Connections, Inc. (GCI), one of the nation’s most respected travel clubs, has again generously helped its local SPCA by raising money for abused and neglected animals in their area.

Employees from Global’s Clearwater, Florida office entered the 7th annual SPCA (Society for the Prevention & Cruelty to Animals) Pet Bowl fundraiser, registering as Team Beso Del Sol, representing Global Connection’s resort in Dunedin, Florida.

The Global Connections team exceeded their initial goal of $1,500, raising nearly $1,900, which landed them in first place for the most donations collected as a team. More than $20,000 was generated from the entire event, which was held at the Seminole Lanes in Seminole, Florida.

Added Team Organizer Kelli Brazier, GCI’s Member Fulfillment Manager, “Not only do we get to encourage donations for a worthy cause close to our hearts, but we have fun in the process while working together as a team. It was wonderful to see how many people really care. A sincere thank you is extended to each of our sponsors!”

Global participants included Kelli Brazier, Heather Love, Marcia McGinley, Nicole Wynne and James Haislop. The team included a total of 13 members as friends and supporters joined in the one-day bowling event.

All funds raised by the Pet Bowl will help the SPCA Tampa Bay continue to increase adoptions, provide emergency medical care for sick and injured strays, investigate suspected animal cruelty situations, educate the public on the humane care of pets, and help with other programs. The SPCA was formed 65 years ago and does not receive any State or Federal tax dollars.
