Overland Park, KS – January 31, 2011 – - Lesley Washburn of Global Connections, Inc. was recently named the recipient of the 2010 Lyons Award presented annually by Tom Lyons, President of Global Connections, at the company's Holiday celebration.

Known as "Mum" to all Global associates, "Mum always completes her work in a timely and efficient manner. She is personable – always welcoming every new employee. New Global associates recognize Mum as their first friend in the company" as stated in her nomination for this coveted award.

The Lyons Award is presented annually to a Global employee in recognition of their outstanding quality of work, having excellent attendance records, and going above and beyond expectations. Lesley "Mum" Washburn began 11 years ago as the Receptionist for Global. She is now an integral part of customer service by ensuring our members will have a pleasant vacation experience by confirming their lodging accommodations and answering any questions they may have prior to arriving at their destination.

When asked about winning the Lyons Award, Mum replied, "It was sheer shock. I'm very thrilled, but I did not expect this in a million years." She added, "I think we are all lucky to work for Mr. Tom Lyons and Global Connections. Really it is a pleasure for everybody to be part of this company."
